Budget Accommodation Opportunity for Sale at Auction
A budget accommodation opportunity in the Granite Belt town of Stanthorpe in South East Queensland is being offered for sale via auction by Ray White Commercial Toowoomba and Ray White Commercial (Qld).
The property on an approximately 3826 sqm corner site at 14 Wallangarra Road, Stanthorpe, is being marketed by Ray White Commercial Toowoomba’s Brian Hodges and John Dwyer of Ray White Commercial (Qld).
Brian Hodges said the site is located near the Stanthorpe CBD and has development approval for conversion to “backpacker or workers’ accommodation”.
“This former nursing home is a well-maintained asset which comprises 45 bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom facilities as well as break out areas and offices,” he said.
John Dwyer said Stanthorpe and the surrounding Granite Belt region is the centre of a booming winery and national park tourist destination.
“There are more than 50 winers in the Granite Belt area as well as a wide range of restaurants, accommodation places and other tourist venues,” he said.
“Backpacking is popular and there is large demand for fruit and vegetable pickers from November until May each year.”
Stanthorpe is on the New England Highway approximately two hours’ drive south-west of Brisbane.
The property will be auctioned at Fitzy’s Tapestry Room, 153 Margaret Street, Toowoomba, at 6pm (AEST) on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.
